EVENT DETAILS
The DFW Solar Home Tour has two components…Self-guided tours and an online virtual tour.

What are tour hours?
The 2012 Solar Tour is a one-day event on Saturday, October 6. Generally speaking, tour hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but times may vary at the discretion of the tour host, so check the site hours before you arrive. NTREG will post visiting hours for each self-guided host site along with map flag, directions, brief property description and photos provided by the host site.

Does it cost anything to go on the DFW Solar Home Tour?
The self-guided tour is free of charge.

Solar Tour Etiquette
Tour hosts have opened their homes and business to share their renewable energy and conservation efforts with the public free of charge. Visitors are guests, please be courteous and polite. Tour hours are generally 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please don’t arrive early or late. Tour hours may vary at some sites so it is a good idea to check the DFW Solar Tour website to confirm visiting hours before you get started. There are no public restroom facilities at tour sites. Practice the Golden Rule and everything will work out great.

What is the North Texas Renewable Energy Group (NTREG)?
The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit volunteer organization and the local chapter of the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES), the state chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). We encourage (but do not require) our members to take part in the State and National American Solar Energy Society memberships.

“Together, we can drive the momentum of the world's largest grassroots solar event and demonstrate that the benefits of solar energy and its energy-efficiency cousins have not only hit the mainstream, they're also here to stay.”
